Michael’s Grill & Taqueria in Pacific Grove, California has been serving up quality Mexican food with Texan and Cajun influences since it was founded by Michael Butson back in November 1986 (that’s a lot of salsa). Michael is the one responsible for the hand-scrawled slogans you see around, and he still stops by from time to time.

After many years of success, Michael’s traded hands in 2001 and is now a family-run business. So who is mama? Today that's our very own Mama Lidia, so when you see her taking orders and serving up smiles, you treat her right, ya hear?

We continue this business’s great success story by following the simple but effective philosophy of “If it ain’t good enough for Mama, it ain’t good enough for you!” We’re especially proud of the many readers’ choice awards we’ve earned along the way.
